Maternity Session with the Sorensons

It’s the season of maternity sessions and I. AM. HERE. FOR. IT! I don’t think there is anything more amazing or more beautiful than a pregnant woman, growing a little human being. The whole process of pregnancy is fascinating to me. I love it! And this session was made even more special because we shot it in one of my favorite spots: Cougar Cliffs!

Can you even with big brother hugging mom’s belly? Gah! This is what I love so much about family sessions - letting kids be kids. Letting them react (or not react) naturally without the pressure to “smile!” or “look this way!” or anything else we throw at them. Photo sessions can be overwhelming for anyone, but especially kids, when everyone is staring at them and this strange person has a huge lens in their face and we want them to smile, but not like that, and look right here, open your eyes, etc. I much prefer to set them up and (stand here, and put your hand on mom’s belly) and then let the scene unfold.
